New CT Series: THROWBACK THURSDAY
In celebration of Cheap Thoughts Number 50!
In the beginning…there were six subscribers, and four were me!
Hello again SkepsisNation, and welcome to another installment of Cheap Thoughts, grumpy sofa-based scribbles from a 19th Century Refugee, noticer and analyst.
I’m glad you still find My 2¢ helpful.
Welcome to the first installment of your ol’ Doc’s new series, Throwback Thursday.
No, it’s not original at all, but at least no tacos are involved, nor $1 Bud Lights. Unless that’s what you’re into, in which case, go nuts.
If you engaged following my last post…
…TYVM for proving that SkepsisNation is still a thing. I’m not in this for the affirmation, but everyone enjoys an occasional pat-on-the-back. Amirite?
And if you’ve been a subscriber for awhile, thanx for sticking around for
Episode Fifty!
What a long, strange trip it’s been…
Since my Subscriber and Follower counts have increased exponentially (relatively speaking!) since the early days of Cheap Thoughts…

…I’ve decided to set aside one day per week to repost all my stacks, in chronological order, from the beginning.
So today, in case you missed it, we begin Throwback Thursday by revisiting the post that started it all:
What Exactly Is Skepticism?
Welcome to the premier post of Cheap Thoughts, grumpy sofa-based observations by a 19th Century Refugee duck-taped to a front-row seat for The Apocalypse.

I’m gratified that so many of you have chosen to join me on this journey. I hope that you are all living life as Vigorously as possible, succeeding in Not Taking The Bait, and most importantly, remaining Skeptical!
As for subscriber/follower trends, I have experienced similar dynamics, and I believe this happens because of recommendations. Last time I checked, upon subscribing to someone with lots of recommendations you were offered 3 publications to subscribe to, and up to 50 (sic!) people to follow. So recommendations yield much more followers than subscribers, and many of those might even not be using Notes at all.
Thanks for the mention Doc! It ain't easy starting over but it sure is fun! Keep up the fight my fren! Git 'er done!
